Just Can’t Get Enough

🤑🧧💰️ Gotta Risk it to Get to Biscuit, just ask Italian Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali. Tonali has been serving a lengthy 10-month worldwide suspension imposed by the Italian Football Federation after being found guilty of betting on matches featuring his prior clubs Milan and Brescia. However, the English Football Association (FA) has charged Tonali for misconduct relating to alleged breaches of the Federation’s betting rules. Specifically, the FA has charged Tonali with 50 alleged gambling offenses relating to bets the Italy midfielder placed after his $75.6M transfer to Newcastle last July.

• It is alleged that the Newcastle United midfield breached FA Rule E8 50 times by placing bets on football matches between August 12 2023 through October 12 2023

• The FA further held that Tonali has until April 5 to respond to the charges

• The 23-year-old’s agent, Guiseppe Riso had claimed last year that Tonali suffers from a gambling addiction

🤐🙄😠 Newcastle’s Big Lost on Big Bet. The Newcastle were keen to see a nice ROI on their big summer signing, but they’re the ones to pay the price. Joining in July, Tonali was handed a 10 month suspended the following October. Tonali has made just 11 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions this season and scored one goal. Tonali has continued to train with the rest of the Eddie Howe’s first-team squad, however it is understood that he will continue training with them as well as participate in friendlies behind closed doors. On the plus side, it is believed that any punishment imposed by England’s FA would run concurrently and retrospectively alongside the existing Italian ban.

🤔🧑‍⚖️💼 Winnings Better With Others. Tonali isn’t the only one to taste the wrath of the FA. Let’s recall the English Brentford striker Ivan Toney. Toney received an eight-month ban for 232 breaches of the FA’s gambling regulations last year before returning to competitive action in January. And boy he came back in style, finding the back of the net against Nottingham Forest and again against Tottenham.
