Friday 03/15

☕️🍀⚽️ Good morning everyone. We’ve mentioned on here maybe once or twice that this summer is a big one for soccer. We have two major continent tournaments going on at the same time. Adidas is fully aware of the marketing potential that this summer has, and so they’ve released the latest jerseys for their Adidas sponsored teams, and they did not disappoint. Nike, are you able to keep up??

Giveaway: Wake up and smell the coffee. Our giveaway will be a $30 gift card for our favorite coffee brand- Kickoff Coffee. As always, each friend that you refer to subscribe to the newsletter is an entry to our raffle. Best of luck!

FIFA Club World Cup
Club World Cup 2025 US

@APNews

⌛️⏳️In case you forgot, US will host the Club World Cup (CWC) next year. It won’t be like any other CWC either. FIFA has confirmed an expanded CWC will be held between June 15-July 13, 2025., the first of its kind. The new CWC will take place every four years and will consist of 8 groups of four teams; only the top two will qualify for the single-legged knockout stages

  • European teams will take up 12 of the 32 spots, four of those slots are awarded to the UEFA Champions League winners in each of the prior four years (Chelsea 2021, Real Madrid 2022, Manchester City 2023, and the winner of 2024.

  • The remaining spots will be determined by club ranking based on the same four-year period

  • 6 clubs will be from CONMEBOL (South America), 4 from CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), 4 from AFC (Asia), 4 from CAF (Africa) one from OFC (Oceania), and the Host (United States) can also put a club forward

🚑️🩼 Expansions=More Games=More Injury Risk. We’ve stressed our concerns with FIFA revamping all these tournaments. With more teams and more games, more the concerns grow over the detriment of player welfare. Particularly in Europe, where the expanded Champions League group stage is set to kick off next season and will bring an already packed calendar.

  • FIFPPRO, the global trade union organization for professional footballers has criticized FIFA’s lack of consideration for the mental and physical health of the players

  • The current CWC format involves seven teams, the winner of each continental competition plus the hosts’ national champion, competing yearly for the title

In search of a pub? Ever find yourself in a new city and are desperately searching for a local soccer pub? Who would have thought that the premier league took time out of their day to create a bar finder. There really is nothing better than catching an early premier league game on the weekends with fellow fans of the game, and finding that bar that will actually have the game sound on just got that much easier.

USA Bar Finder. Bar finder, aka Intern Jose’s nickname in college. Easy to use search platform on the premier leagues website. It has most major cities included, and they’re even accepting updates to their list if you email them at [email protected]
