CONCACAF Nations League Final
A Spicy matchup

🏃‍♀️📈 The matchup between USA and Mexico is always sure to have some fireworks. This Sunday, the teams faced off at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas to a lively crowd. Tyler Adams and Gio Reyna won it for the U.S and the team won their third straight Nations League trophy. Beyond the trophy, the team will look to carry this momentum into the Summer. International break is always tricky because you only have a couple of games to build momentum before a big tournament. Looking forward to seeing what this team can do given the experience they have playing with each other.

🦵💢🥊 Ditch the boots, grab a mouthpiece. Fans have stormed the field at the conclusion of Super Lig’s Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor match. In what paired 3rd place up with 4th place for an epic showdown, ended quite epic. On paper, the match ended in a 3-2 road victory for the away team Fenerbahce, who are only two points away from league leaders Galatasaray.

  • A brace from former Manchester United midfielder Fred gave a two-goal lead by halftime

  • The locals managed to find the back of the net twice leveling the match at the 2nd half

  • Former Chelsea lad Michy Batshuayi bagged the winner in the final minutes

  • Once the final whistle blew, the away team came together to celebrate

🏃‍♂️🏃💨 It’s all fun and games until a significant number of home supporters jumps the barriers and rush full force to the pitch with a knuckle sandwich for the hungry winners. Because that’s exactly what happened at the conclusion of the match, some not-so-chill things.

  • Trabzonspor ultras clashed with the celebrating Fenerbahce players at centre circle

  • A Trabzonspor fan attacked Mert Muldur, another supporter fought defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, while Batshuayi was seen kicking out supporters

  • Fred, after joining from ManU this past summer, was chased from the field by a pursuing crowd

  • Stadium security forces were required to surround the Fenerbahce players to guide them to safety

  • Away players took refuged in the locker rooms.

🧑‍⚖️⛑️🚑️ Big Boss wants to have a word. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has condemned the violence, while Turkey’s interior minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed on X that authorities have launched an investigation into the brawl and to identify the fans who led the storming on the pitch.

  • Fenerbahce gaffer Ismail Kartal defended his team, claiming his players had not provoked fans and his teams were down right attacked

  • Trabzonspor head coach Abdullah Avci described the events as very upsetting

The Turkish Football Federation confirmed that they are in communications with officials regarding the events that unfolded. This incident comes after a series of other controversies in the Turkish league this season, including an attack on a referee by the club president, the postponement of a domestic cup final in Saudi Arabia, and several protests of refereeing decisions.
