Monday 11/13

☀️🌇👋 Happy Monday SSB fam. Wayne Rooney is not having a neat time right now. Since taking over for second division Birmingham City, his team has gone from 5th to 15th in the league, struggling to get his first win. This is probably not what Tom Brady had in mind when the ownership team decided to go with the Manchester United legend. You know who is having a neat time though? Gotham FC. Congrats to the ladies for winning their first championship in franchise history!

8 Goal Thriller in West London

via BRFootball

🎦🚀 The game that had it all. An absolute battle went down in West London between Chelsea and Manchester City. Who remembers the last time that Manchester City conceded 4 goals in match? It must have been ages ago, and Chelsea should be proud of their strong performance as they continue to get positive results. Manchester City’s hard fought point keeps them in first place before the international break, as Chelsea earn a point themselves to bring them to the top half of the league in 10th place.

✈️👨‍✈️ Erling Haaland is flying high. The Norwegian Viking is inevitable. The size difference against Cucurella proved to be too much, as the Chelsea player struggled to keep up with Haaland on a play that lead to a penalty. Pep Guardiola’s half time speech must have fired Haaland up because it took him only 2 minutes into the second half to score again, this time by any means necessary. At the 87th minute, Haaland assists Rodri with what looked to be the game winner, but we know what Cole Palmer had to say against that.

🤺⚖️ Revenge Goals. When a player scores against his former club, all eyes are on how he celebrates. Sterling scored in the 37th minute to give Chelsea the lead, and his initial instinct was clearly to celebrate the big goal but then immediately put his arms up, remembering and respecting the time he share with City.

Just when the match seemed to be closed out after another clutch Rodri goal, but here stepped in the young former Manchester City Academy lad, Cole Palmer. Cole devoted 15 years coming up the ranks in Manchester City’s academy, and after a Ruben Dias tackle on Broja lead to a PK, the stage was set for Cole to bag his revenge goal and salvage a point for Chelsea.
