Ivory Coast are crowned Champions of Africa

🏆⚽ Ivory Coast had a rollercoaster of a tournament. Three weeks prior to the final, in the same venue, Ivory Coast fans looked at the field in disbelief as their team had just lost 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea. A poor start to the tournament lead to the firing of the head coach, mid tournament, before they even qualified to the knock out stages. From there, it was a fairy tale run, full of penalty kick shootouts and last minute winners. Ivory Coast, the host nation of this years tournament, defeated the favorites, Nigeria, 2-1 in the final.
