🏁🏃‍♀️48 teams, 104 games. The hype around the 2026 World Cup gets bigger as each day passes, and this weekend that hype got even louder. On Sunday, FIFA officially announced the cities and dates for all of the matches for the world cup. The biggest surprise was the location of the final- Metlife Stadium in NJ beat out AT&T Stadium to host the big game on Sunday July 19th. Although Dallas lost out on the final, we’re sure Jerry Jones doesn’t mind the fact that they will be hosting a total of 9 games, including the semi-final.

The tournament will kick off in Mexico City at the iconic Azteca stadium. The three hosts, Mexico, Canada and the United States, will all host their group stage matches in their respective countries. It’s now known that the USMNT will be playing their group stage matches on the West Coast, alternating between Los Angeles and Seattle.

1️⃣v.2️⃣ Leverkusen v. Munich, lads we have a match; in a tight title race for this year’s Bundesliga, we find ourselves in a predicament which we have not found ourselves in a long long time. Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen are doing what appears to be the impossible, not tasting defeat. While Tommy Tuchel plans on traveling to Leverkusen to serve Alonso and Co., their first L to reclaim the top of the table.

  • Xabi’s silverware-studded playing career culminating in a third Bundesliga title in 2017, the World Cup and two-time EURO winner stepped almost immediately across the white line into the dugout. "I'm sure that when he hangs up his boots he'll be a great coach if he wants to be," predicted his former boss Jose Mourinho in 2010 after managing Alonso the player at Real Madrid, "[Xabi] reminds me of Pep Guardiola when I had him as a player. He was already a coach on the pitch."

🩼🏥Sir, dining alone tonight? Tuchel has no easy feat ahead of him, but when you account Bayern Munich’s injury report, yeah it’s most definitely no easy feat. Bayern have suffered big time injuries including Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies, former Arsenal lad Serge Gnarby, World Cup winner Kingsley Coman, and midfield dog Joshua Kimmich.

😏👀 Leverkusen welcomes the challenge, Leverkusen and Bayern secure wins ahead of their clash. Leverkusen retained a two-point lead over Bayern Munich into their Bundesliga table topper next week, with Leverkusen winning 2-0 at bottom side Darmstadt and Bayern beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 on Saturday.

  • Nathan Tella scored a 33rd and 52nd minute brace as Leverkusen regrouped well from a 0-0 draw against Gladbach eight days ago

  • Gladbach led in Munich from Nico Elvedi in the 35th but the champions fought back from teenager Aleksandar Pavlovic in the 45th, league top scorer Harry Kane with his 24th goal in the 70th and Matthijs de Ligt in the 86th

  • Leverkusen host Bayern next Saturday but they first face a German Cup quarter-final on Tuesday against VfB Stuttgart who in third won 3-1 at 10-man regional rivals Freiburg, with the help of goals from Deniz Undav and Chris Führich in the opening seven minutes

  • Just 4 days after their clash against Bayern Leverkusen, Bayern Munich will travel to Rome for Champions League Round of 16 against Lazio

👀🔜 We’ll see what happens next? Xabi’s success with Bayern Leverkusen just so coincides with long-time coach Jurgen Klopp’s step down from Liverpool… just makes you wonder the places they’ll go.
