Ukraine booked its spot in the Euros with an 84th minute winner from Mudryk, and Georgia booked their spot after a dramatic penalty shoutout vs Greece. So what’s in store for this Summer? It’s action packed with the Euros and Copa America happening at the same time, and then we finish the Summer with the Olympics.

💫An electric showdown went down between two heavyweights: Spain vs Brazil. We don’t have to tell you that both of these countries have a long history of producing some of the world’s biggest soccer stars. With the scoreline ending at 3-3, we couldn’t help but notice the fact that we may have just witnessed two of the next rising stars. Endrick, the 17 year Brazilian player that is heading to play for Real Madrid this weekend scored once again for his country. Lamine Yamal, the 16 year old Barcelona player was able to draw a penalty for spain, as well as assist Olmo to score the second goal.

Death Threat to an Angel

@GOAL/GettyImages

🐐🏆️✉️ In case anyone was wondering, winning a World Cup and Copa America for your home country is not enough to win your home country’s love. The former Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG lad has received death threats addressed to him and his family should he return to play in Rosario. Argentine police and prosecutors are investigating an anonymous death threat to Angel di Maria delivered in his hometown of Rosario

  • The 36-year-old winger at Benfica in Portugal recently said he could play again for his boyhood club Rosario Central

  • Staffers of the Funes hills Miraflores condominium where the World Cup winner usually stays, said they found a package containing a death threat to Di Maria’s family if he returned to play for one of the city clubs

  • Specifically the message read, “tell your son Angel to not to come back to Rosario because we will kill a family member. Not even Pullaro (provincial governor Maximiliano Pullaro) is going to save you. We don’t leave paper notes, we leave bullets and dead people behind.”

  • The note was reportedly wrapped in a black plastic bag and reached the doors of the gated community.

🚓 👀🚨 Let’s back up a bit, Rosario has been rocked by waves of violence between rival drug dealing groups. The city homicide rate is rate 22 per 100,000 residents, above the nation’s average of 4.2 per 100,000. The city is the site of one of the world’s largest agro-port hubs and has seen an intense increase in violence by drug trafficking groups, with Rosario a potential outlet for illegal drugs to other countries. Lionel Messi is also from Rosario where his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, family resides.

  • The violence in Rosario affected World Cup Winner Lionel Messi, when a gunmen shot at a supermarket owned by Messi’s relative, leaving a note behind that read “Messi, we are waiting for you.”

  • At the movement there is no known motivation behind the threat, nor is there any information on what Angel may have done to warrant it.

  • The note has been seized by the police with an investigation underway by authorities.

  • Di Maria started in Argentina’s friendly against Costa Rica Tuesday,

The Argentine government said last week it will send a bill to Congress to allow the armed forces to intervene in internal security questions to fight drug trafficking and crime in Rosario. Our thoughts are with one of the heroes of 2022 World Cup final.
