💵💰Brazilian clubs have adopted a new business strategy. Every year, a new Brazilian teenager is deemed the next rising star, and European clubs are willing to bet some big money on who that will be. But this brings up a question: what does Brazil do when all their talent leaves for Europe? The answer? Bring the players that did not live up to expectations back home, for a much cheaper price than they were sold for.

🐐🥐🏆️ Even the mighty get hurt, and in ways not readily noticeable to the naked eye. World Cup winner Raphael Varane has broke his silence to raise awareness of the serious dangers of concussions in the modern football game. The Frenchman went into great detail as to his experience suffering multiple concussions and the impact they’ve had on his professional career and personal life. Now representing Manchester United, Raphael Varane made his name at Los Blancos from 2011 to 2021 and lifted club football’s most coveted trophy four times there, UEFA Champions League.
😶🌫️🤕🔔 Multiple concussions on the biggest nights. Varane confessed that he had played multiple games for both club and country while dealing with the effects of concussions. He further confessed that he never missed these types of important matches. The former France international retired from international football in February 2023.
Varane sustained a concussion playing in the World Cup 2014 round-of-16 match against Nigeria, stating he finished the game on ‘autopilot’
During a La Liga match against Getafe, Varane stated he received a ball with his head during a corner and had to leave the pitch
Varane would say to himself, wake up, during 2020’s Champions League last 16 tie between Manchester City and Real Madrid
Raphael provided he missed a game for Man U earlier this season after dealing with concussion symptoms
Raphael noted that he would head the ball repeatedly during matches for Man U and felt abnormally tired in the following days with eye fatigue
🏥💡😷 More than the game. Repeated concussions can cause brain injury and lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a delibitating brain disease that can cause a range of negative symptoms the more advanced it becomes. The protocol set out by England's Football Association states that if a player is suspected of having concussion, they must be immediately removed from the pitch, whether in training or during a match.
Last month, soccer lawmakers IFAB approved the use of permanent concussion substitutions after repeated calls to do so from governing bodies and organizers including the Premier League.
The FA has trialled removing deliberate heading in matches at under-12 level, with other countries including Scotland banning heading on the days immediately before and after matches
