Champions League
A Dramatic European Night

via PSG

🥇 PSG manage to get revenge for “La Remontada”. Ex Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique, led PSG to a comeback against a 10 man Barcelona squad after Aurajo got a red card in the 29th minute. The Barcelona squad put on a good showing but eventually were no match to a fast paced PSG with quality players like Dembele and of course, one of the best in the world, Mbappe. At this point, it’s impressive how the Catalans manage to give up leads in European competition. Check out the full highlights here.

👨‍🎨⬆️ A rollercoaster in Dortmund. An unreal matchup between Dortmund and Atletico Madrid had both teams thinking at some point in the match that they were without a doubt going through to the Semifinals. The game ultimately ended with Dortmund winning 4-2 (5-4 on aggregate), all thanks to a dramatic turnaround with 2 goals scored in 2 minutes. Check out the highlights here.

@DavidRamos/FIFA/GettyImages

🌐🔜 When one door closes, another one opens, or so found out FC Barcelona after their UCL exit at the hands of Paris Saint Germain. Their lost not only sees them out of Europe’s most prestigious tournament, but also to next year’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Albeit, Atletico’s Champions League exit the after a 4-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund, with Barca’s loss, they’ve secured their spot in the Club World Cup.

  • The Club World Cup was newly revamped to include 32-teams

  • Europe will have 12 teams including title winners of Champions League in the prior four seasons and high-ranked based based on their overall competition results the current period

  • The past three Champions League winners - Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. Plus high ranked clubs, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter Milan, Porto, Dortmund, Benfica, Juventus,and now Atletico.

  • The last European entry will be either Arsenal, if it wins this Champions League edition, or Salzburg as countries are limited by FIFA to two entires unless they have more than two continental champions

  • FIFA expects to pay tens of millions of dollars prize money to each team at a tournament that will be missing European powers like Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool, and AC Milan.

🌎️👀 It’s a party in the USA, but this is not an open invite! The Club World Cup invites participating teams from the rest of FIFA’s confederations: CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, OFC, and AFC. As it stands 2026’s Club World Cup will set the stage for:

  • Three Brazilian teams- Flamengo, Palmeiras and Fluminense have qualified as Copa Libertadores winners since 2021. Argentina’s storied rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors as high-ranked teams among CONMEBOL’s quota of six entries. The last of South America will be decided on Nov. 30 with the champion of Copa Libertadores.

  • Seattle Sounders and Mexican teams Leon and Monterrey will be joined by another team from the CONCACAF region. The Champions Cup final is set for June 2. Nonetheless another U.S. team should qualify as part of FIFA’s tradition to include the host nation’s champion.

  • AFC’s participants Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds are set. While Egypt’s Al Ahly and Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca have punched their place on behalf of CAF. Auckland City of New Zealand will represent Oceania’s confederation.
